Park Slope Apartment

Brooklyn, New York | 2020 | 750 SF | Interior Design | Completed

This apartment was designed for a couple, who are artists, with a young child. We created a minimalist design for the apartment that serves as a backdrop for their art.

The use of light wood floors and bright white walls were used to make the space feel bigger and brighter, and create the feeling of an art gallery within their home. To work within the client’s budget we used simple fixtures and finishes that were cost effective but maintained a contemporary aesthetic.T o maximize the amount of space, we created a child’s bedroom, off the main living area, using sliding doors, that could be kept open during the day, to maximize the amount of daylight and area for playing, but could be closed off at night.

We also opened up the kitchen to the main living area to visually connect the spaces and maintain a loft-like feel.
